NEPL Event 4 Wrap Up

It was another beautiful weekend in Maynard this weekend while the New England Paintball League hosted their 4th event of the 2010 season; Phamous Media, Players Choice Productions, and DRAMedia were on scene to capture all the action.

Lets start with the NEXL.  After the prelims The Hurricanes we're sitting in first place with 3 wins not dropping a single point so far.  Boston Bloodline was in second place with 3 wins but dropped 4 points in their match against the Lobsters where they were loosing 4-2 and brought it back to win in the last 30 seconds 5-4.  New England Lobsters and Identity Fyre were both 2-1 and were tied going into the semis.  In the semis Bloodline and Lobsters faced off for the second time after their extremely close game in the prelims, Bloodline won 4-1 in a match that went to time.  Hurricanes went 5-0 vs. Identity and went on to play Bloodline in the finals where they were victorious 5-1.

In MLP, Identity - Creed was in first place going into the finals with a total of 501 points in the prelims, trailing by only 3 points the Hurricanes were right behind them with 498 dropping their last game to NE Synergy.  Behind them was Mass Hysteria with 448 points and NE Synergy with 408 points.  On the stalemate style field many of the prelims games went to time, as did a few of the finals games.  In the round robin finals, Hurricanes went 3-0, NE Synergy went 2-1, Mass Hysteria went 1-2, and Identity Creed went 3-0.  For the 3rd time this season, the Hurricanes would win in both X-Ball and 7-Man.

In 5-Man, New England Invasion, The Institution, New England Blizzard, SouthCoast Menace, Boston Menace, and Upstate Misfits advanced from the prelims into the semi finals.  From there, New England Invasion, New England Blizzard, The Institution, and SouthCoast Menace moved onto the finals.  Invasion prevailed over Blizzard 2-1.

Also in the first ever NEPL 5-Man Open Pump division team Pumper Nutter from PA won with a score of 618 beating ThrowDown, Blizzard, AG Paintball's Disgruntled Employees, and MainePB.com Factory Pump Team.

NEPLjr 3-Man was taken by NE Riot followed by Crypt Keepers, Misfits, and Saco River Boonie Barbarians.
