Dave Painter: Thursday - first match against Colorado Blitz - tough match - we dropped the first 2 points very quickly - won a point - dropped a point - sitting down 1 to 3. I think the late flight arrival, limited sleep, etc.. effected our playing - everyone was a bit sluggish. Dan Zeleski played well, but everyone else was a step slower. We managed to wake up and run off the next 4 points to win 5 to 3.
Our second match was against Ontario Freeze was a bit easier - we didn't look good doing it and some of the points could have easily gone to Freeze, but we managed to win 5 to 0.
Friday rolled around and it was a different day - a good team dinner and a solid nights sleep lead to the 187 I know and love - smooth, calculated and killing.
The first match against Team Zone was a quick match...we went up 4 to 0, gave a way a point on good play by Zone and then closed out the match 5 to 1.
The second match of the day was against Noble. They've been playing well all season. They scouted us during the entire Team Zone match. It was important for us to come out and make a statement after our poor performance on Day one. We stomped them into the ground to win convincingly 5 to 1.
We're sitting around the pool - drinking beer and pregaming for tomorrow - waiting to see who we'll play Saturday morning.
Off to dinner at Logan's Roadhouse - steaks for all the winners :)
187 cRew will go onto to play Boom and Grad in the quarter finals on Sunday morning. We wish them the best of luck and hope they can bring the threepeat. Dave Painter All Stars will also go on to play Worthless in the Ocho-Finals Sunday morning after going 2-2 in the RaceTo-2 D3 5-Man division.
